Self-Compassion

If all you get from all of this is:

One

Miniature

Micro-dose

Of Self Compassion

A capacity

A willingness

A ‘heck, maybe it’s worth a try’ attitude

Of gentleness…

It will all be worth it.

It will be worth all of the well intended mistakes

All of the glorious failures

All of the hoopla and humdrum

If you can breath in a little deeper

Rest your head a little softer on your pillow

Close your eyes with the slightest curve upward on your lips

Believing you just might be

Acceptable

Worthy

Of supreme value!

Not despite

Your whoops-es

Your dang its

Your foot in your mouths

Your blunders and mishaps

Your so close but no cigars

Your nice trys and

Not yets

But: Because of them.

Because you’re all of you. You are all of you. Not some Flat Stanley, cardboard cut out, plastered smile, politician, trophy wife, poster child version of a so called living thing; inanimate.

But a blood filled, organ pumping, raw, messy, real life, real deal:

human.

What if your mistakes are nothing more than

Proof

 of your

Worthiness.

What if they are your actual signed, sealed, and delivered proof of worth.

And they are charged with whispering to you,

“...keep going.”

Then this will be a job well done.

For me, too.

Smooches,

Lynn
