Be Gentle with your Story. Be Gentle with You.
  

Your story is precious.

It is tender.

You are the only person who gets to be you.

Ever.

From the inside.

The only one.

 
~The paths you’ve been asked to walk
~the doors you’ve closed &..
~the ones that've been slammed in your face
~the hoops you’ve had to jump through &...
~the ones you've had the audacity to pick up,
sling them around your waist and 
hoola hoop away with,
giggling as you go.


...They are yours alone.

Be gentle with your story.
Be gentle with you.

You are the only one who knows:

~the exquisite sensation of the first bite into your favorite meal.
~The bittersweet reminiscence of the tingly sparkli-ness of your first love.
~The flow that comes engaging with work you adore.
~The warm gaze of your beloved,  their crooked smiling, their choosing you.

 
You are the only one who gets to feel, from the inside, what it’s like to have an off day. One where nothing is going right and your brain is making it all wrong. Forever. (Anyone else have that kind of day, sometimes?)

 

You’re the only one who gets to sit with you in the car after you’ve been brave, and it didn’t go the way you wanted.

 

You’re the only one who knows how it feels to wipe away your own tears with your own hand.

 

You’re the only one. 

 

  • What you’ve been through...

  • The parents you’ve had...

  • The traumas you hold in your body - as well as the work you do to release them

  • The choices you’ve made, both the ones that worked out and didn’t…

...these all contribute to who you are today.

 

The boldest, most wild, possible choice anyone can ever make is to decide:

 

Nothing is wasted.

 

I’m going to commit to do all I can and try to love it.  

All of it.

I’m going to commit. 

I’m going to try.

I’m going to do all I can to love.
 

I’m going to be gentle with my story today. 

I’m going to be gentle with me.

I’m the only one who can, from the inside out.

Place one hand on your heart, and one hand on your belly. Take a deep breath. Then allow these questions in and listen to whatever answer comes forward:

1. What part of my story do I want to be more gentle with? 

~Breath deeply and let this answer find you.

2. Tell this part of your story: I hear you.
 ~Breath deeply and allow this to be true.

3. Ask this part of your story: What do you need?

~Breath deeply and let an answer come.

4. Tell this part of your story: I love you. I'm sorry. Thank you. 

~Breath deeply and allow this to be true.

5. Ask this part of your story: What's next?

~Breath deeply and listen.


When you are ready, release this part of your story, thank it, and rub your heart and belly, or shake your body for as longs feels good.
